Amanda

Hey there, I hope you are having a great day and getting ready for the weekend. Below is a guest post done my Bootcamper Amanda. She has done so well and has an incredible story I asked her to share it with you. I know when it comes to weight loss the journey seems long, but here is a story to help boost you up and let you know it can be done.

Sooo here’s Amanda…

Hello, my name is Amanda and, I’m proud to say I am a part of the Habitat Health and Fitness Boot Camp Army! However, if you would have told me five months ago that I would be working out every day and sometimes now even twice a day I would have called your bluff! I have changed a lot in the last few months and I have Brandon at Habitat Health and Fitness to thank for that!

First of all let me say that I was not always over weight. During, high school I played varsity volleyball and enjoyed jogging. I didn’t start having a problem with my weight until I was in my early 20’s. Now, pushing 30 it’s getting harder and harder to keep off! I have been on every diet you could imagine and I have been a regular at diet clinics.

I would lose the weight for a while but, would always gain it back. I have used every excuse in the book! I don’t have time to exercise because I have three kids, it’s too expensive to eat healthy, blah, blah, blah, blah!

I think the turning point for me was sitting on the sidelines of my daughter’s soccer game. There I sat, at my heaviest weight ever, yelling from my chair for her to hustle and run faster!

When all of a sudden it clicked in my head….” How can I possibly be sitting here telling her to run harder when I probably couldn’t even run half the length of the field without stopping?” It was then that I realized I didn’t want to be the “fat” mom on the sidelines yelling at my kids to be more athletic! I realized that I wasn’t being motivating I was being a hypocrite! So, this is how my journey of being healthy and fit began.

I started boot camp about 4 months ago. The first day I walked in I was terrified and embarrassed. However, my fears quickly faded as soon as the work out began. Everyone was extremely nice and very supportive. I was definitely struggling to get through the workout but, as I looked around I could tell I wasn’t the only one!

The first week it took all that I had to get out of bed each day because I was so sore. I was even a little discouraged at first because, I didn’t see the quick results I thought I was going to see. I remember standing on the scale and looking at Brandon telling him how disappointed I was because the numbers weren’t budging.

He gave me the best advice and I still tell myself this every day. He told me to look at it like a marathon not a sprint. That my body needed to get use to what I was doing. He was right because I came in the next week and had dropped 6 lbs! Since, then I have lost a total of 23lbs and I am feeling great!

I’m not to my goal weight yet but, I am well on my way! I not only see the difference in the way I look and feel but, I can also tell the difference in my performance during the workouts! I can run farther, I can do more sit ups and I even pushed out 5 full range pushups on my toes the other day! To me those are huge improvements!

I recommend Habitat Health and Fitness to everyone that I talk to! I love it! My advice to everyone is to give it a try! Nothing worth having comes easy and to me my health is definitely worth the hard work!!
