Elijahs Haircut

Ok…so my wife and I took my son (Elijah) for his first hair cut… I know…I know, he is coming up on three years old and he just had his first hair cut.

Well, we were going for the surfer look for a while until every where we went people would say.. “oh she is adorable” or “look at her”.. Wow he’s in a Buzz Lightyear, blue and green outfit and you are saying “her”.. ok…

…long story short, we cut his hair and now we’re debating on growing it back out.

What do you think?

Amanda

Hey there, I hope you are having a great day and getting ready for the weekend. Below is a guest post done my Bootcamper Amanda. She has done so well and has an incredible story I asked her to share it with you. I know when it comes to weight loss the journey seems long, but here is a story to help boost you up and let you know it can be done.

Sooo here’s Amanda…

WLunges Amanda

Hello, my name is Amanda and, I’m proud to say I am a part of the Habitat Health and Fitness Boot Camp Army! However, if you would have told me five months ago that I would be working out every day and sometimes now even twice a day I would have called your bluff! I have changed a lot in the last few months and I have Brandon at Habitat Health and Fitness to thank for that!

First of all let me say that I was not always over weight. During, high school I played varsity volleyball and enjoyed jogging. I didn’t start having a problem with my weight until I was in my early 20’s. Now, pushing 30 it’s getting harder and harder to keep off! I have been on every diet you could imagine and I have been a regular at diet clinics.

I would lose the weight for a while but, would always gain it back. I have used every excuse in the book! I don’t have time to exercise because I have three kids, it’s too expensive to eat healthy, blah, blah, blah, blah!

I think the turning point for me was sitting on the sidelines of my daughter’s soccer game. There I sat, at my heaviest weight ever, yelling from my chair for her to hustle and run faster!

When all of a sudden it clicked in my head….” How can I possibly be sitting here telling her to run harder when I probably couldn’t even run half the length of the field without stopping?” It was then that I realized I didn’t want to be the “fat” mom on the sidelines yelling at my kids to be more athletic! I realized that I wasn’t being motivating I was being a hypocrite! So, this is how my journey of being healthy and fit began.

I started boot camp about 4 months ago. The first day I walked in I was terrified and embarrassed. However, my fears quickly faded as soon as the work out began. Everyone was extremely nice and very supportive. I was definitely struggling to get through the workout but, as I looked around I could tell I wasn’t the only one!

The first week it took all that I had to get out of bed each day because I was so sore. I was even a little discouraged at first because, I didn’t see the quick results I thought I was going to see. I remember standing on the scale and looking at Brandon telling him how disappointed I was because the numbers weren’t budging.

He gave me the best advice and I still tell myself this every day. He told me to look at it like a marathon not a sprint. That my body needed to get use to what I was doing. He was right because I came in the next week and had dropped 6 lbs! Since, then I have lost a total of 23lbs and I am feeling great!

I’m not to my goal weight yet but, I am well on my way! I not only see the difference in the way I look and feel but, I can also tell the difference in my performance during the workouts! I can run farther, I can do more sit ups and I even pushed out 5 full range pushups on my toes the other day! To me those are huge improvements!

I recommend Habitat Health and Fitness to everyone that I talk to! I love it! My advice to everyone is to give it a try! Nothing worth having comes easy and to me my health is definitely worth the hard work!!

Dani

Be healthy and fit, that is my goal!!!
I was born in Brazil on June 11th, 1971; do the math, I’ll be 40 very soon! I’m 5’10” and the heaviest that I’ve been. I was 191Lbs size 12 and my body fat was 33% and I was on the border line of my bad cholesterol.Dani1 Dani
As a teenager I played volleyball and took P.E. classes during my school years, I also rode my bike until my 20s….after that I used to work out once in a blue moon.
I always had a gym membership, and sometimes took some classes and used some machines at the gym, but I didn’t enjoy doing it!

I tried many diets, all the diets starts on Monday….soup diet, baby food diet, low carbs, no carbs, 1200 calories per day, weight watchers, ….you name it, adding up all those diets, I lost weight but I also gained it back. I was always on a Yo-Yo diet! I was not the best I could be!!

Last year a friend of mine invited me to join a boot camp Habitat Fit in Winter Haven, with an awesome personal trainer, Brandon Roggow and I did it. It was the best decision that I ever made it!!

The first 2 weeks were really hard for me, I used to go to the boot camp at 8:00am and when I arrived home I stayed sitting on the couch, tired and sore ….because I was very much out of shape and far from being fit.
During those first two weeks, I was kind of frustrated, because I was exercising and not losing any weight; but for the first time in my life I was committed to exercising and eating healthy. After the two weeks I started seeing results and I was enjoying exercising!!

My tip: never give up!! Everybody’s body is different! I lost 30 Lbs. in 3 months and never gained them back. I’m still a “boot camper” five days a week and in those 8 months I don’t think Brandon repeated any routine of exercise!! Boot camp is not boring and brings a different challenge every day!!

The motivation that Brandon still gives me makes a lot of difference in the way that I see food and exercise!! His knowledge and the way that he shares it make a lot of sense to me. Boot camp is fun, different, and powerful, it’s fast, and takes only 45 minutes a day to see results versus 2 hours in a gym. This month, May, 2011 is my 8th month at Habitat Fit; I’m 158Lbs size 6, 26% of body fat and my cholesterol is under control, I also lost 8 inches overall. I still have room to improve though, life is a journey, every day and every step counts!!!

All my friends could visualize that I was slender, fit, and healthier and they also say that I look even younger!! Who doesn’t like to hear that??

My husband and other friends joined me at Habitat Fit because they see the results that I have accomplished!! I also motivated friends in my home country!!

My tips for you:
-never give up even if takes more than weeks to see results
-eat healthier food instead of doing a “diet”
-be with family and friends that motivate you
-The Bible says that our body is a Temple and we need to take care of it
-find a place where you can exercise, enjoy and see results!!
-eat a low carb breakfast
-eat more protein
-drink more water
-be committed
-be interested
-set goals
-read labels

I strongly recommend Habitat Fit!!!!!!!Brandon really cares and is passionate in everything that he does. He helps us with our nutrition and exercise, he always sends us tips to help us do better, to inspire us and support us! Habitat Fit is a motivational and friendly environment!!!!!
If I did it you can do it as well!

Changing bad habits, a way to be strong, healthy and fit, and Brandon can help you!!It’s not just about losing weight it’s about changing habits so you won’t gain them back!!
Keep your body moving!! Join us to burn fat and tone you muscle!
